COMPOST

Compost is a combination of decomposed organic matter which has formed during natural processes of various fungi and microorganisms to create humus, a rich natural material vital for the healthy structure and fertility of soil formation.

The combination of dead natural elements such as woody materials and soft green plant matter combine with the presence of moisture, oxygen and optimum temperature can form a very fertile course substance which can be used for crop growing and plant fertiliser. The vital elements of good compost combine optimum carbon and nitrogen ratios to create a perfect growing medium for plants.

Natural soil ecology in the formation of compost is vital in its creation. Worms, fungi, and bacteria all work at breaking down the organic material in a process which is naturally occurring in natural health soil structures.

Compost gives us the ability to recycle nutrients from our homes and gardens to create a self sustaining process of organic food production.
